EcoZip Adventures offers an exhilarating way to experience the stunning landscapes of Waiheke Island, just a 35-minute ferry ride from downtown Auckland. Set amidst the island’s sub-tropical beauty, EcoZip invites you to take in breathtaking views while soaring through the sky at speeds of up to 60kmph on 200-metre-long ziplines.
Your adventure begins with a 20-minute Waiheke Highlights Tour, showcasing the island’s pristine beaches and world-class vineyards as you make your way to Zip HQ, perched atop Trig Hill. From the viewing deck, take in 360-degree panoramic views of Waiheke Island and the surrounding Hauraki Gulf before embarking on your ziplining experience.
The adventure features three dual ziplines, allowing you to share the thrill side-by-side with a friend. Each zipline offers a unique perspective of Waiheke’s stunning landscape, combining speed, views, and excitement—all while securely harnessed.
Zip One – Vineyard Cruise Begin your journey on the Vineyard Cruise zipline, a gentle introduction as you glide above a working vineyard known for its award-winning Syrah wine. This 220m zipline offers a relaxing ride, providing views of the neat vineyard rows below, with Auckland’s skyline shimmering in the distance, framed by the islands of the Hauraki Gulf and the silhouette of Rangitoto Island.
Zip Two – City View Next, feel the adrenaline increase on the City View zipline, which takes you higher and faster over the forest canopy. As the name suggests, this zipline provides spectacular views of Auckland city. At 200m long, you’ll fly through and over a forest designated as a Site of Environmental Significance. Sit back and enjoy the ride or race your fellow zipliner—either way, don’t forget to look down and admire the intricate patterns of the native tree ferns below.
Zip Three – Kurinui The grand finale is Kurinui, the steepest and fastest of the three ziplines. Your guide will share the meaning of this Māori name as you prepare for a thrilling 220m ride. Zipping along at speeds over 50kmph, you’ll fly faster than the speed limit on Waiheke’s roads! This zipline also passes over the City View line, offering a surprise twist to your adventure.
After the ziplines, your journey continues with a guided nature walk through an ancient forest, where you’ll learn about Waiheke’s rich history and the conservation efforts that protect this incredible environment. EcoZip Adventures delivers a thrilling, eco-friendly experience that showcases the best of Waiheke’s natural beauty.

- Complimentary pick up from Matiatia Ferry Terminal or Oneroa Village Bus Stop
- 20-minute sightseeing tour of Waiheke Island
- Three 200m dual flying fox ziplines over native bush
- Explore the native bushland on an interpretive forest walk

- This experience has regular departures from 9.15am to late afternoon, 7 days a week
- Pick up locations: Matiatia ferry terminal, Waiheke Island 30 minutes prior to the tour time; Oneroa village, 33 Waikare road 25 minutes prior to the tour time; outside Wild on Waiheke, Onetangi bus stop 10 minutes prior to the tour time
- If pick up is not required, please be onsite 5 minutes prior to the tour time
- This experience includes transfers from Matiatia Ferry Terminal or Oneroa Village Bus Stop
- If self driving, please meet at 150 Trig Hill Road on Waiheke Island
- Sunscreen
- Hat (that can fit under a helmet)
- Warm clothing (if cold weather is forecast)
- Please ensure footwear can be buckled, zipped, or laced up
- Recommended ferry times are provided on tour voucher
- Open 7 days except Christmas Day
- Participants under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult
- Minimum weight for participants is 30kg and maximum weight is 125kg
- There must be at least 1 adult booked on a tour with any children
- This activity is only affected by weather if winds are gusting over 35 knots. If it is raining, we will still go ahead please bring along your rain jacket
- The scenic bush walk back up to our visitor centre is a gently meandering 1.5km walk, which we take 25-35 minutes to make. Therefore a minimum level of fitness if required

- Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
- Bookings cancelled more than 48-hours before scheduled departure time are subject to a $25 cancellation charge per person and the balance shall be refunded. Subject to availability such bookings may be amended once free-of-charge. Any subsequent amendments or cancellations will be subject to the cancellation charges set out in these Terms.

- Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience
- Mobile Vouchers are accepted! - Vouchers can also be presented on your mobile device for this attraction

After purchasing the voucher
After purchasing the voucher, we had a quick response regarding our confirmation towards our booking. The transport from then ferry terminal to the zipline was excellent. And the overall experience was 5/5. It was easy to find the voucher on this site. Would definitely use it again.
