Head south via luxury coach down the wild West Coat towards the glacier town of Fox Glacier The departure of this tour is timed to connect with the arrival from the TranzAlpine scenic railway. Along the way you’ll pass through former gold mining settlements and travel past windswept beaches and lush New Zealand forests Stop off for afternoon tea (own expense) in Hokitika and continue south past forest fringed lakes and dense beech forest as the Southern Alps loom closer.
Your one-way tour concludes in the village of Fox Glacier, your base for exploration of the area. A moving river of ice approximately 13 kilometres (8.1 miles) long, the Fox Glacier is enclosed by sheer rock walls and some of New Zealand’s highest mountain peaks.
