What you can expect
View the breathtaking scenery from high heights and feel the rush of wind on your face with this gondola and luge combo package. Travel high above Queenstown to Bob’s Peak to board the 730m long gondola. With an average incline angle of 37.1 degrees, the gondola boasts having the steepest lift in the Southern Hemisphere. In addition to this steep incline, it has large windows on all sides, ensuring all four guests in each cabin are granted spectacular views. On this very scenic ride, enjoy unparalleled, panoramic views of Coronet Peak and The Remarkables mountain range and from Lake Wakatipu to Cecil and Walter Peaks.
The adventure does not end there. There is still the fast-paced luge ride to do. Choose which track you prefer, blue or red, from the two available. The Blue Track offers a gentle ride filled with easy, wide turns and plenty of areas to pull over for photo opportunities or to just rest and take in the sights. The Red track is for the more daring, as it has steeper dips and hollows, as well as banked corners. Both tracks are 3m wide, 800m long and offer amazing views of Queenstown and beyond.
Once you pick your track, hop in your three-wheeled luge cart, grab the steering wheel and let gravity carry you. With access to both of the Skyline gondola and luge adventures, you can choose which to experience when during your day out.

- Skyline Queenstown departs from the top of Brecon St, Queenstown
- Children between 80cm and 110cm require a pre schooler ticket to ride tandem with an adult and only on the Blue track
- Riders between 110cm and 135cm can ride the Blue tracks unaccompanied
- Children aged 10yrs old and over 135cm can ride the Red track unaccompanied
- Riders must be in good health and be free of height restrictions, motion sickness, back problems or other physical limitations
- Not recommended for expectant mothers

At first I was extremely nervous about the Gondola
At first I was extremely nervous about the Gondola, as I am afraid of heights and looking at how high it was, it was pretty daunting but I got over myself and it was the best thing ever! And the Luge was absolutely amazing and such a thrill joy. Best Experience Ever!

Beautiful view up at Skyline
Beautiful view up at Skyline! We took the Gondola and had 3 luge rides. We would have purchased more rides if we had known it was so fun! You get to enjoy a nice Queenstown scenery as you make your way down with the fast ride. It was fun! Definitely worth visiting Skyline and going on the luge rides and gondola.

Amazing view from the top of the mountain and both my 5& 2 yo kids loved the luge rides
Amazing view from the top of the mountain and both my 5& 2 yo kids loved the luge rides. We purchased gondola + 2 luge rides this time, however, we will do more luge if we go back next time. My 65 yo mum also loved the gondola and luge ride. Suitable for all ages.
