What you can expect

Experience the thrill of climbing alongside cascading waterfalls on our purpose built cable climbing system. You will climb up ladder rungs fixed to the rock, cross narrow suspension bridges and enjoy spectacular views on this 2-hour experience. This introductory-grade experience is perfect for beginners and first-time climbers as it teaches you all the necessary skills and provides you with all equipment to complete the waterfall climb.

Your journey starts at the base of the Twin Falls waterfall, located 20-minutes from Wanaka township. From here you'll be allocated safety equipment and taught the necessary safety skills before ascending the wall of the waterfall to taking in impressive views of the surrounding region and even have the chance to reach out and touch the running waterfall.

The whole experience lasts for around 2-hours, 1-hour of which is climbing, and features wire bridge crossings, hidden pools and scenic picnic spots as well as a return journey via trail. The climb itself is a style of climbing called Via Ferrata and is aided by metal pegs and rungs secured into the rock wall, similar to climbing up a ladder, meaning you won't have to worry about trying to grip bare rock. This makes the whole experience easier and more enjoyable for everyone.

All visitors are asked to wear sturdy shoes such as runners or hiking shoes. You are welcome to bring your own camera to capture the entire experience. Suitable for children over the age of 12 years and over 40kgs, tours depart daily.

One of the coolest and most adventurous experiences in the Wanaka region, this 2-hour easy grade climbing experience will be the highlight of any trip to the region.
