What you can expect

Tighten up your walking shoes and get ready to explore one of New Zealand's best wildlife attractions. Zealandia in Wellington is home to an incredible amount of native animals including the famous Kiwi. A visit to Zealandia will get you up close to a range of animals while also learning about the country's wildlife history.

This experience provides you with entry to the park as well as a guided 2-hour tour of the grounds. An informative tour hosting a maximum of 12 Tours, this is one of the best ways to learn about the region, the animals that have and do live in the region and more!

With the help of a knowledgeable guide, you'll be able to see and learn about native birds such as the Kaka, Hihi, Tieke and Kakariki as well as Tuataras.

Tous depart on a daily basis at 10am, 11am and 1pm from the Visitor Centre.

  • The Rata Cafe is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Transfers
  • From the i-SITE Visitor Information Centre, Wakefield Street to Zealandia at 9:30am, 10:30am, 11:30am
  • Please note: The shuttle is first come first served and we cannot always guarantee space available for every visitor
What To Bring
  • Dress to conditions - wear sturdy footwear, plenty of layers and a waterproof jacket

  • Comfortable walking shoes, warm clothing a waterproof layer recommended
  • Suitable for all ages, moderate level of fitness required
  • The café closes at 4pm

This trip was absolutely amazing

This trip was absolutely amazing. It is definitely worth getting a tour guide for your trip to Zelandia as we learnt so much more from the guide that if we were to go there on our own. Our guide Paul was fantastic! I'm very happy we made the trip here.
